2021 will notupgrade or uninstall

#1

Hi, I have a user with Kubla Kubed Lite 2021, and have been trying to upgrade him to the current version, but the update fails to apply.  I can't even uninstall to do a fresh install.  Anyone else run across this?  Hopefully found a solution?

Hi,

Thanks for your post and welcome to the forums!

The 'installer' program that downloads after registration, automatically detects whether to remove, add, or upgrade the software. When removing or upgrading, an uninstallation of the existing product must take place first. Usually this is a quick process but occasionally, there can be problems if something else has interfered with the installed program since it was added. At other times, there may be an admin rights issue, anti-virus interference, etc. In rare situations, our own uninstallation / installation product may not succeed in the removal. There are several remedial options when uninstallation fails.

1. Restart your machine (restart rather than turn off and on) and try again.
2. If the installer has failed, there will often be a blue link (on screen) saying 'Log'. Please send that to kubla support.

If those options don't work for you, then there are a couple of tools that users have found to solve the problem:

3. There is an 'Official' tool to use for Windows. You can download through this link https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/17588/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-removed
4. If that does not work, there is a third-party tool, we suggest called Revo uninstaller. This is a very good tool. Try the free version which can uninstall and clean. This has been used several times to clean up corrupt installations: https://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uni...nload.html

Revo helped, thanks - had to follow up with some fairly brutal deletion of registry bits and folders, but got 6.3 on in the end. Thanks for your help!
