Single Camera Mode syncs the cameras in each of the phases so the view stays consistent as you examine the different stages of your project. You will notice that if you go through the phases of your project, the camera can be set to look at the terrain from different perspectives: 2D in one and maybe 3D in the next. Single camera mode overrides that ensuring you just see the project in one fixed view as you changes phases.

Single Camera Mode allows easier examination of how a specific area changes across different phases.
