groundworks problem

we are trying out Kubla. 2nd day. managed to plot our existing ground using your video guides. our project has 101 houses with differing FFL's. do you have tutorials we can look at as we cant seem to make headway at all?

Hi Paschal 

Welcome to the Kubla Central forums.  

You can use the Platform element to define building pads with flat areas which it sounds like you need.  However 101 platforms will be too many calculations to do in one project I think.   It might be best to separate different projects into separate groups of buildings.  Just copy and paste the file with the existing in it and start from there.  A different project for each group.  You can define the platforms with 'Level & Offset' and specify your construction thickness as the 'Z offset' and the 'Level' as the FFL grades marked on the plan.  You can also adjust the side slope angle in the Batter section, the default is 1:1.

If there are multiple areas that are the same FFL you can combine them with a single platform to save on calculation time.  

We haven't got a video on the platform element yet but will be making one when the 2017 edition is released within the next week.  However there is a video of creating platform elements to define upper and lower building pads in this video :
