Photo Outline in a outline
Posted by: Newuser - 05-19-2022, 12:05 PM - Replies (1)

Hi!
I have a pdf file with a lot of different detail shaft in it. They also are on different heights and the building varies in height aswell. I want to know how many cubic meters the shafts are. Because the building heights varies alot it takes alot of time if I would specify all the heights by hand.

Is it a way I just could decide a height so I could "stamp" out the shaft and get the m3?

At the moment I extrapolated the pdf and set the same heights around in the pdf. The depth decide the  amount I need to cut but ofcourse it doesn't get the right value if I dont have the exact height around. I need a work around this.

Lightbulb Site Balancing Feature and Yield Factors
Posted by: Karina Pena - 05-10-2022, 08:43 PM - Replies (2)

I would love if this software could balance a site automatically, I used to have another software that would tell you by how many inches or feet you could reduce/elevate your points to achieve a balanced site. This would be a great tool.

It would also be nice to be able to add yield factors or "fluff" to cut (typically 1.25) and fill (1.45) quantities, or at least have them in reports and such. I guess account for compaction factors is what I am trying to say.

"Failed to Get Outline" - Error
Posted by: tyron.tomlinson - 04-28-2022, 08:08 AM - Replies (1)

Hi all

First time poster here, but long time guest user of the forum.

Am currently having an issue printing a .pdf drawing for an earthworks project I am quantifying.

It is a multi-phase project, with some overlapping outlines between phases.  I am getting the error "Failed to Get Outline" (see attached picture) when I am trying to print to .pdf, but I am not sure whether this is due to the overlapping outlines, or whether I am doing something else incorrectly.

I seem to be able to print the 'Existing" and final phases of the project, but not the intermediate phases.

The first phase has a single "Platform", the second and third phases also includes a "Platform", and the final phase includes two "Paths", a "Slope" and a "Platform" (if this makes any difference).

Would be happy to receive some suggestions as to what I am doing wrong?

Kind regards

Tyron

  K3 Crashing
Posted by: msullivan - 04-05-2022, 02:07 PM - Replies (1)

Hello
I,m mike from Maryland, USA.                  Way to go Brandon!

My construction phase's: existing ground (-4" topsoil/not useable at compacted backfill), H.D.P. /mass grading (design ground elev. 2ft+/- above top of pre sited foundation elev., garage 1ft below gar. f.f. elev.), Finished grade (outline at fill limits, 3d contour lines, platform 3d polyline at 1ft below basement elev.)

My software crashes continuously happen when trying to cut in a platform/basement thru finished grade & thru into my mass grading surface. The idea behind our earthwork is to have a mass graded site at an elevation where when the contractor comes to cut in the basement and pour the concrete for the walls/foundation and the spoils from that work are then used to fill/final grade around the structures thus alleviating the need to remove excess earth.

My thought is that the k3 software does not want to cut thru multiple surfaces?

How can i work around this dilemma? should i change when i add the platform, i've tried multiple different solutions to no avail, please help before i lose my mind!

Thanks in advance
Sully

  Topsoil Spread
Posted by: djungst - 03-31-2022, 05:43 PM - No Replies

I want to spread 6" of topsoil in the grass areas of the project.  How do hold down the cuts and fills so that the finished grades are achieved when the final 6" of topsoil is spread?  I can see that if I actually put the spread phase in the sequence before the cuts & fills were calculated, that would get me to the correct final grade, but if there are slopes that will be flattened by the cut and fill process, this would also result in more topsoil than needed since the 3D area of the site before cuts and fills could be greater than the 3D area after cuts and fills.

  Earthwork
Posted by: Ganesh Thorat - 02-02-2022, 05:19 AM - Replies (1)

Hello,

I'm Ganesh, works in a ground mounted solar filed. Which requires grading of large land (in order of 200 to 500 acres). I require to do earthwork at solar table levels. Basically need the spot level grading at every solar table level, such that my gradient will be within permissible levels (mostly below 8-9 degrees). Will that be doable using Kubla software?

Thanks and Regards.

  Copy & Paste Outlines
Posted by: djungst - 01-25-2022, 01:52 PM - Replies (1)

I have created an outline for topsoil strip.  On another TAB (phase), I want to use that same outline to setup a platform so that I can determine the site balance elevation.  I am pretty sure that I am getting the copy part right on the topsoil strip phase, select all points using the arrow feature in the upper left hand corner of the outline coordinates list and then doing a control-C, but I cannot get these coordinates pasted on the next phase.  What is the sequence of operations I must do on the new phase to paste the coordinates?

Hi.

As the Topic ask.

The "Cut" & "Fill" have any effect to side batter?  have any calculation rules?

Thanks.

Hi
I have a pdf with contur lines. I added them into my pdf and did a top soil strip.
Now I want to rescape the area to get the best massbalance. The site slops several meters so need to get the best balance of the site.
How do I do this?
